One Year Development of a Shinpaku

I started with the shinpaku on the left sometime in February, 2007. It was approximately 24" in height. I reduced the foliage and branches as seen in the photo in the middle. After wiring and shaping, the tree on the right represents just one growing season. The picture on the right was taken at the end of the summer, 2007. In Japan, I would have removed much more foliage than what is shown in the center photo. However, the owner of the tree was concerned that I had already taken too much off.
